ABC just revealed its big lineup for the 2020-2021 season, and it includes a nice mix of reality television, scripted comedies and dramas, news, and even two new shows joining the roster. ABC Studios will debut two new shows titled Big Sky (from David E. Kelley) and the comedy Call Your Mother from Kari Lizer. These will join Leslie Jones Supermarket Sweep reboot, and ABC hopes to achieve similarly high results from the previous year and maybe surpass them with the new shows in the mix. Returning favorites include shows like The Connors, The Goldbergs, and the sophomore season of Stumptown, as well as The Bachelor franchise, which so far has spawned two successful shows in The Bachelorette and Bachelor In Paradise. BIG SKY
From visionary storyteller David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies) comes Big Sky, a thriller created by Kelley, who will write multiple episodes and serve as showrunner in its premiere season. Private detectives Cassie Dewell and Cody Hoyt join forces with his estranged wife and ex-cop, Jenny Hoyt, to search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana. But when they discover that these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, they must race against the clock to stop the killer before another woman is taken. She decides her place is with her family and as she reinserts herself into their lives, her kids realize they might actually need her more than they thought.
